This was my most complicated project to date. Although it is made from pine, I got some awesome sugar pine from a local woodstore. It is very high quality and stable for pine. It finised great. I learned a lot and had to study and practice new techniques (new to me) for building something more than some of the more basic pieces I had done previously. I was very pleased with the end result as was my customer. The idea was to make it match some of his other furniture. Pictures below for the finished result. The customer wanted to be able to lock the storage area. A special mount had to be engineered and worked into the support for the top. Unfortunately the only part I couldn’t find in brass, at the right size, was the U-bolt. The brass plate is to keep the lock from damaging the wood. This one was bittersweet to finish and see it go.
